Boys are so much fun and it's amazing how they are automatically drawn to things that "go". During this session Blaine shared with me his many cool planes, trains, and trucks. He was quite articulate in his manner for a three year old and had a lot to say. His sister Ayden slept for the first half but then joined us and showed off her big beautiful eyes. Kristina & Rob ~ thanks for letting me hang out with you guys!

Mama Mia
I met Beth and her family when I showed up at her house to do a maternity/family shoot. I always just end up shooting whatever is going on around me, so we got a lot of great family stuff. There little boy is so so handsome and talks a lot for his age. He even makes monkey noises! They were gracious enough to let me stay what was probably too long. Seriously Beth, I didn't know what time it was until I got into my car! Well, we got a lot to show for it. I'm only letting you peek at a couple of the real maternity shots because they are very beautiful, but also very personal and I just feel better if she gets to see them first. Oh, I have to mention that she was concerned about the fact that she hadn't had her eyebrows done recently. Now, look at the last photo and tell me if YOU notice. Ummm.......I think not.

Family Fun
A few posts back you might remember that this family and I were having trouble coordinating schedules to have an outdoor session all together . Well, we finally made it happen. Although the leaves really hadn't changed to the gorgeous fall colors we were hoping for, I still love the little moments between them all that we ended up with. Aren't they sweet? And little Miss Kinsey could never take a bad picture.
There's always time for a diaper change. What team work!
Can't you just tell how much they love their baby girl, and how much he loves his wife in these next two.

An Apple a Day..............
Just a few of my favorites from Sat. with Christine, Tom, and the girls. They are such a sweet family and I loved the way they just let me follow them around and catch what was going on naturally. It works great with kids these ages, because they get to play and explore and we get to capture their great personalities. Christine brought beautiful apples fresh from the market, that as you can see, the girls enjoyed whole heartedly. Their oldest even invited me to come with them to McDonald's for Chicken McNuggets afterwards. Now, that makes me feel special!
Sadie must have known OSU was playing that day!
I LOVE baby eyelashes!
OK, Christine - How's this for candid?
There is so much that I love about this image. Besides the lively expression - the baby is in the back doing what she wanted to do the whole time - crawl away - very quickly - and dad is just being as patient as a dad of two girls can be.

Fall........!!!
I'm so excited about the weather changing this week. I know, I know ~ we will soon be wishing again for the summer, but for right now it is great. I have several family outdoor session coming up and the temp change will make a tremendous difference. We rescheduled one session last week to this weekend because we just couldn't imagine the sweaters and longsleeves the family had picked out in the 90 degree weather.
I spent a good part of my morning out on the trampoline (enclosed) with my almost 2 year old just jumping a little and then just sitting there in the cool air playing with leaves and things. There something slow about fall that makes me want to take more time for just hanging out- doing nothing. It's hard sometimes to make ourselves do it, but especially for our kids ~ it's so worth it.
For those of you also with little ones who sometimes watch Noggin ~~"It feels like I'm falling for fall"..............;)

A still moment
It seems like my 10 year old Drew doesn't sit still for a second anymore. He certainly is tired of having his photo taken, but I managed to grab a rare calm and real moment the other night. It reminds me of when he was a few years younger and was still in that little boy stage. Not anymore. I love my little man!

Mustangs and Legends
Thanks to my father in law, we had the opportunity last weekend to attend one day of the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends down at Rickenbacker. There was much to see and many stories to be told and heard. It's amazing to think of those in the Air Force today and all of those before them and the amount of skill, talent, and dedication that has been offered up for our country.
The size of some of the aircraft is just phenomenal, and standing under and walking through some of them can give you chills. My 10 year old in the pilot seat of an enormous plane was something to see.

This, That, and the Other.
FYI ~ for anyone who has inquired about a session in October but has not yet scheduled, the month is almost completely booked. I shoot mainly on the weekends so there isn't much room to shift things around.
Plus we are awaiting a couple of newborns this month that we must squeeze in the mix! More room in November and December though. And remember, we don't have to shoot outside. I love to come to a client's home and shoot in their environment, so weather is not a problem.
Also, I just mailed out a gift certificate and wanted to pass along the suggestion of one for the upcoming Christmas season. It makes a wonderful gift at any time to a family with a newborn as well. Gift Certificates are available in any amount and are good towards retainer fees, prints, or products. Just shoot me an email, send a check, and it will mailed right out to you.
More later ~
